Pairing Your DISTO with the Leica DISTO App via Bluetooth
Overview
Many Leica DISTO models support Bluetooth connectivity, allowing measurements to be sent wirelessly to the Leica DISTO App on your smartphone or tablet. This article covers how to pair and use the connection.
Compatible Models
Bluetooth is available on DISTO models with the Bluetooth icon on the device. Common Bluetooth-enabled models include the D2, D5, D510, D810 touch, X3, and X4. Check the label on your device or the original packaging to confirm.
Pairing Steps
- Download the Leica DISTO App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- On your DISTO, press and hold the Bluetooth button (usually labeled with the Bluetooth symbol) until the indicator flashes.
- On your phone or tablet, open Settings > Bluetooth and enable Bluetooth.
- Open the Leica DISTO App and tap Connect or the Bluetooth icon.
- Select your DISTO from the list of discovered devices.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator on the DISTO will remain solid.
Sending Measurements to the App
After pairing, each measurement taken on the DISTO is automatically transmitted to the app. You can:
- View measurements in the app's project view
- Take sketches and annotate room layouts
- Export data as PDF or CSV
Troubleshooting Bluetooth Connection
- Device not appearing in app: Ensure the DISTO is in pairing mode (indicator flashing). Try toggling Bluetooth off and on on your phone.
- Connection drops frequently: Keep the phone and DISTO within 10 meters. Avoid areas with heavy wireless interference (Wi-Fi routers, other Bluetooth devices).
- App doesn't receive measurements: Force-close and reopen the app. Unpair and re-pair the device if needed.
- Pairing fails on Android: Some Android devices require you to pair via the system Bluetooth settings before opening the app.
