iCON Trades Freezing or Crashing

Overview

If the iCON Trades app is freezing or crashing intermittently, follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Determine the Scope

  • Does the freezing occur with all projects, or only a specific project?
  • If only one project is affected, the project file may be corrupted. Try creating a new project to test.

Step 2: Gather Version Information

Note the following before contacting support:

  • iCON Trades version number
  • Android OS version on the tablet
  • Specific workflows or actions that trigger the freeze

Step 3: Capture a Screen Recording

  1. Enable the Android Status Bar: Menu > Settings > Systems.
  2. Swipe down twice and tap Screen Recording.
  3. Reproduce the freezing issue while recording.
  4. Stop the recording and save it for support.

Step 4: Reload iCON Trades

This process reverts to an earlier version and reloads the current release, which resolves many freezing issues caused by corrupted app data.

  1. From the iCON Trades menu, navigate to the version/update section.
  2. Revert to an earlier version of iCON Trades.
  3. Once the earlier version is running, update back to the current release.
  4. Test the workflows that previously caused freezing.

Step 5: Reboot the Tablet

If the issue persists, perform a full reboot of the iCON Trades tablet and retry.
