How to Collect Diagnostic Logs from iCON iCS

Overview

When troubleshooting iCON iCS issues, the support team may ask you to collect diagnostic log files and a screen recording. This article explains how to generate logs and export them from your tablet.

Step 1: Enable the Android Status Bar

  1. In iCON Trades, go to Menu > Settings > Systems.
  2. Enable the Android Status Bar.

Step 2: Start a Screen Recording

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open the Quick Settings panel.
  2. Locate the Screen Recording button and tap it to begin recording.
  3. Reproduce the issue you are experiencing while the recording is active.
  4. Stop the recording when done.

Step 3: Generate Log Files

  1. With your iCS instrument connected to iCON Trades, navigate to the log/diagnostics section within the app.
  2. Tap Generate Logs (or equivalent option shown in your version).
  3. Wait for the log file to be created.

Step 4: Export Files via USB

  1. Connect your tablet to a PC using a USB-C cable.
  2. On the tablet, open Android Settings > Connected Devices > USB.
  3. Select Use USB for File Transfer.
  4. On the PC, open File Explorer and navigate to:
This PC > [Tablet Name] > Internal shared storage > iCON > Projects
  5. Locate and copy the relevant project folder (the .irmprj folder) and any log files.

Sending Files to Support

Attach the log files and screen recording to your support ticket, or share them via a file-sharing link if they are too large to attach directly.
